“Bob” is a native of Charleston, SC and is CEO of James Doran Company, a Mount Pleasant based developer and asset manager of commercial and multi-family real estate. He is also President and Broker-in-Charge of JDC Management, LLC. Bob has over 50 years of extensive real estate investment, development and property management experience and enjoys a strong base of contacts in debt, equity and brokerage communities throughout the Southeast. He also has a broad range of experience in creative joint ventures that prove beneficial to all parties involved. He has overseen the development of more than 3 million square feet of retail space, office space and 2,500 multi-family market rate units throughout the Southeast, representing more than $1 billion dollars’ worth of real estate transactions. With a 120-year history of identifying opportunities and capitalizing on trends, James Doran Company is one of the Southeast’s most notable mixed-use developers. Using financial expertise complemented by commercial and residential development experience.

In addition, Bob is co-founder of The Humanities Foundation, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit leader in providing affordable housing in the Southeast since 1992. Under Bob’s leadership, Humanities has developed 28 LIHTC properties, family and senior, within 4 states, totaling approximately 3,000 affordable and workforce housing apartment homes. Outside of his driven mission to address the need for more affordable housing, Bob further extends efforts by providing a wide range of health and human services to assist residents living within Humanities’ communities for a better quality of life, as well as to the community, such as: “Marketplace,” a food pantry program, senior telemedicine clinics, and youth services for family properties. To date, Bob’s efforts shine by providing over 1.7 million meals to Humanities’ residents and the community through Marketplace. In 2018, Bob’s food pantry efforts exceeded just Humanities’ communities as he saw the need to also address the increasing rate of food deserts in the Tri-County area. By partnering with local churches and many other community partners, Marketplace has delivered over 500,000 meals to food deserts and those in need of food access.

Bob attended the University of South Carolina, majoring in banking, finance, insurance and real estate. He is a SC licensed real estate Broker-in-charge. Outside of his leadership and experienced advice of real estate matters, Bob holds family of upmost importance and enjoys spending time together, sailing, and the great outdoors.
