Robert “Bob” Doran is a native of Charleston, South Carolina, and CEO of James Doran Company, a Mount Pleasant-based developer and asset manager of commercial and multi-family real estate. He is also president and broker-in-charge of JDC Management, LLC. Bob has over fifty years of extensive real estate investment, development, and management experience and enjoys a strong base of contacts in debt, equity, and brokerage communities throughout the Southeast. He also has a broad range of experience in creative joint ventures that prove beneficial to all parties involved. He has overseen the development of more than three million square feet of retail space, office space, and 2,500 multi-family market-rate units throughout the Southeast, representing more than $1 billion worth of real estate transactions. With a 120-year history of identifying opportunities and capitalizing on trends, James Doran Company is now one of the Southeast’s most notable mixed-use developers.

In addition, Bob is co-founder of Humanities Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit leader in providing affordable housing in the Southeast since 1992. Under Bob’s leadership, Humanities Foundation has developed twenty-eight Low-Income Housing Tax Credit properties (family as well as senior) within four states, totaling approximately 2,500 affordable and workforce housing apartment homes. Alongside his mission to address the need for more affordable housing, Bob advocates for a wide range of health and human services for residents living in Humanities Foundation communities, including a free food delivery program called Marketplace, senior telemedicine clinics, and summer camps. To date, Marketplace has delivered over five million meals to food-insecure areas, absolutely free of cost. Bob attended the University of South Carolina, majoring in Banking, Finance, Insurance, & Real Estate. He is a South Carolina licensed real estate broker-in-charge.
